Job Description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation of a variety of financial reports including budgets for assigned P&L lines of responsibility, weekly and period end reports and Senior Management reports. Creates and maintains computerized financial models for the budget process. Prepares and reviews variance between budget and actualized data.


  • Responsible for compiling budget information and assist in constructing the Metro Ontario Inc. divisional budget.

  • Maintain accurate and efficient financial models for budgeting purposes.

  • Maintenance, modification and preparation of period end, weekly and daily reports to Senior and Operational management.

  • Review monthly variances between actuals and budget.

  • Maintain TM1 database.

  • Liaise with other Departments to obtain budget related data and maintain business relationships.

  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards and commitments consistent with IFRS.

  • Take part in various ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

  • Analyze journal entries in SAP and request corrections if needed.


  • College diploma or University studies in Finance/Accounting and/or currently working toward an Accounting designation

  • 3 – 5 years related work experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office programs

  • Strong business writing skills

  • Strong financial math and analytical skills
